ARTISTS

CHRISTINANOEL & THE CREATURE Debuted in New York City at The Bessie Schoenberg Workshop in 2011 and has presented work at The Flamboyan at The Clemente, The Mark O’Donnell Theater at the Actors Fund Arts Center, Gowanus Loft, Judson Memorial Church, GAP Series, ITE Festival, The Irondale Center, Teatro LaTEA, Triskelion Arts, West Fest, Dance Theatre of Ireland, Shawbrook School Ireland, the DanceNOW Festival, Joe's PUB, LaMama, The Tank, Legros Women in Dance Studio Series, Fete de L'Hurricaine Festival, If You Build It, Dixon Placeʼs Crossing Boundaries Festivals, Home Audio, Open Culture, and The Hoover Dam Collective Performances. Founder and Artistic Director ChristinaNoel Reaves originated Rapture Of The Heroine (guurrrl) on Zoetic Dance Ensemble of Atlanta in 2012/2013. May 2013 brought The Creature’s inaugural independent concert at Teatro La Tea followed by a successful sophomore season at The Irondale Center in May 2014. The Creature was invited to present a TedX performance at Martha’s Vineyard in August 2014 on the theme “insanity, genius, and the creative process.” ChristinaNoel & The Creature has hosted eight independently produced seasons at rotating New York and Brooklyn art and performance venues.

MARIJA OBRADOVIC was born in Croatia and grew up in Belgrade, Serbia. She began her contemporary dance training with the guidance of Svetlana Djurovic, with whose company she worked for seven years. In 2015 Marija moved to New York and started working as a freelance dancer. In 2018 she joined Shannon Gillen’s company VIM VIGOR Dance. She performed in shows ‘’Together is close enough’’ (2021) and ‘’Forever’’ (2019). She has also supported Shannon Gillen’s commissions at The Barnard College, The Juilliard School, New Dialect Company in Nashville, the b12 festival in Berlin and at Springboard Danse Montreal in Canada. In 2018 Marija also joined an immersive theater show “Sleep No More” by PunchDrunk NYC. She has been with the company for two years performing one of the primary roles of Lady Macbeth. Additionally, Marija holds a BA in Psychology from University of Belgrade.

THRYN SAXON is a dancer, choreographer and filmmaker based in Queens, NY. Saxon’s choreography and films have been presented at venues across NYC, LA, Maine, and Florida. As a dancer Saxon has performed with companies such as Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company, Sleep No More and Kate Weare Company. In 2019 Saxon was selected as a resident choreographer in the Mare Nostrum Elements: Emerging Choreographer Series and as an artist in residency at The Church in Mount Vision, NY. In March of 2020 Saxon was selected as an Associate Artists at the 180th Atlantic Center for the Arts Residency.


APAP WOMEN'S SHOWCASE Arts On Site presents an All Women Choreographers APAP showcase series. The performances will be at 8:30pm, Feb 4th & 5th at Arts On Site and feature Dual Rivet/ Chelsea Ainsworth and Jessica Smith, Kayla Farrish, Demi Remick, Annie Rigney, and Amber Sloan.  

GOODBADGROUP/THEATER - FOOL FOR LOVE - Through searing truth and dark humor, Fool for Love shows the story of two people who just can't live without each other whether they like it or not. May is hiding out at an old motel in the Mojave Desert. Eddie finds her there and threatens to drag her back into the life from which she had fled, until another man shows up... Reality and dream; truth and lies; past and present mingle in an explosive, emotional experience.

DUAL RIVET is a women-led dance company focused on creating and sharing highly physical contemporary dance to a wide audience. Based in NYC, Dual Rivet creates work for stage and film that exchanges a cinematic and visceral language to influence both platforms. Directors Jessica Smith and Chelsea Ainsworth have been making and presenting work since 2017.  They come from an international background of creating and performing work in places such as England, France, Germany, Japan, Philippines, West Africa, Canada, and the United States. Dual Rivet has performed at venues such as West End Theatre, Kittery Maine, Musikfest Pennsylvania, Peridance Capezio Center, CreateArt, and Arts On Site. The company teaches a myriad of classes, throughout the United States, with an emphasis on contemporary partnering and floorwork. Dual Rivet is currently on faculty at Juilliard, Gibney, Peridance and DanceWave. Restrictions

Performances are located in a large studio space with an air purification system. The stage is set up in a proscenium style with appropriate space between the artist and the audience. All performers are required to be vaccinated, but are not required to wear face coverings during the performance. 
 

All visitors are required to:

  • Arrive at least 15 minutes before performance (6:15 & 8:15pm).
  • Complete COVID-19 questionnaire (listed below).
  • Complete safety waiver. 
  • Wear appropriate face covering in hallways, studio spaces, and for the duration of the performance.
  • Show proof of vaccination (details below).
     

COVID-19 Restrictions: All individuals are required to wear a mask and be able to show proof of vaccination. Per the Cultural Organizations Mandate made effective as of 8/17/21, everyone entering the building will need to provide any of the following “proof of vaccination” documents. 

  • A photo or hard copy of their CDC vaccination card
  • NYC COVID Safe App
  • New York State Excelsior App
  • Official vaccine record
  • A photo or hard copy of an official vaccination record of a vaccine administered outside the United States for one of the following vaccines: AstraZeneca/SK Bioscience, Serum Institute of India/COVISHIELD and Vaxzevria, Sinopharm, or Sinovac.

Any individuals who fail to provide proof of vaccination while in the building will be subject to pay the $1,000 fine that is enforced by the City of New York.
 

Visitors are not allowed entry if they answer "yes" to any of the following questions:

  • Have you had COVID-19 symptoms in the past 14 days?
  • Have you had a positive COVID-19 test in the past 14 days?
  • Have you been in close contact with a confirmed or suspected COVID-19 case in the past 14 days?
